We The Curious

Who We Are

We the Curious is an idea and a place for everyone. Our venue on Bristol's harbourside is filled with all sorts of different experiences, where you can interact with exhibits, test stuff out and participate rather than just visit.

We're an educational charity, all about empowering everyone to ask questions and get creative, with boundaries removed between science, art, people and ideas - a movement supporting an inclusive and accessible scientific community.

We the Curious was previously known as At-Bristol Science Centre; an interactive science centre with an aim to "make science accessible to all". We welcomed over 5 million visitors over the past 17 years and relaunched as We the Curious in September 2017, with a new vision committed to creating a culture of curiosity and becoming a more multi-disciplinary, inclusive and relevant cultural venue. We want to reposition science as part of culture.

Every year we continue to:

  • Welcome over 300,000 visitors to our venue in Bristol – two floors of interactive exhibits, around 3000 square metres, and the UK’s only 3D planetarium.

  • Support and develop over 150 volunteers, who contribute over 4,000 hours.

  • Directly engage with 70,000 school-age children within and beyond the national curriculum - through workshops, interactive exhibitions, talks and digital media.

  • Build connections and collaborations with groups and individuals living in the most deprived areas of the city.

  • Work in partnership with our local universities, researchers, artists and varied groups across the city.

  • Contribute to the wider Bristol economy through strategic partnerships with other visitor attractions.

  • Work across the science and cultural sectors to create more engagement opportunities and deliver our programme most effectively.
